Mary Coccetti, LCSW | Therapist
Hardiness, happiness, healing and hope: The best time for new beginnings is NOW.
I enjoy guiding my clients to make the changes they desire. Clients tell me they feel they can trust me to help them face painful experiences and come out feeling safe.
Besides my undergraduate degree from Penn State University, I hold a masters in social work from the University of Denver. I have also trained in positive psychology, heartmath, contextual family therapy, multi-systemic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, life coaching, mediation, meditation, grief and loss, brain-based therapy, custody evaluations, crisis intervention, attachment disorders, PTSD, play therapy, art and dance therapy, Gestalt, forensic psychology, and EMDR.
Clients often report quick deep positive changes with EMDR. I spent over 20 years working with severely abused, neglected, and traumatized children, couples and families and gained a great deal of experience testifying as an expert witness in the field of social work over the years.
Now I enjoy working with a variety of clients at Life Fitness Center. I believe in a holistic approach to wellness so whether your stressors are relational, nutritional, environmental, familial, educational, or traumatic, I create a safe, compassionate, flexible, empathic space for my clients and enjoy empowering each client to achieve their goals.
I believe the best helpers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see.
When I'm not working, you'll find me golfing or traveling. I feel blessed to live on Maui but retain LCSW licensure in both Hawaii and Colorado and am grateful to have traveled, presented at conferences, and studied abroad. I keep learning and am grateful to have the experience of other cultures. Everyone should have the right to be safe, accepted and helped when hurting.
Challenges make life interesting and overcoming them gives life meaning.
